# French lawmakers vote to charge Netflix, Google, Meta and Amazon €0.055 per gigabyte sent to French users

French lawmakers voted to charge Netflix, Google, Meta and Amazon €0.055 for every gigabyte of data they send to French users, a levy its backers say could raise about €10 billion a year.

It passed 11 to 10 in a nearly empty National Assembly, over the government's objection,
